How everything began…
In the Beginning, God created the universe and all that inhabited it. God took time to mold and shape the Earth, creating all kinds of life within. Before He created Man, God made Divine Beasts to roam around the Earth. Divine Beasts were given celestial powers and abilities to help keep the universe in check. Like Man, Divine Beasts were also given Free Will. Most stayed in Heaven and dwelled in peace with the angels. The ones that remained, stayed on Earth, alongside Man.
Everything was good and peaceful between them. The Garden of Eden thrived because of their partnership. How did this come to be? It was said that the Divine Beasts were compatible with Man, and could form a contract with them. Great power was born from their contract, as well as an evolution that Man wasn’t ready to completely accept. An angel, named Merrick, recorded the first Man, Adam, making contracts with various Divine Beasts, to help keep the Garden of Eden balanced. That book was titled Untold History. The book spread like wildfire in Heaven. It also made some of the angels jealous. One of those jealous angels was Lucifer.
In the Bible, Lucifer tried to get rid of Man by turning into a serpent and tempting Adam’s wife, Eve, with the Forbidden Fruit. That treacherous act cast Man out of the Garden of Eden. Many of the Divine Beasts followed Man, yearning to keep their partnership. However, Man also lost that bond because of their sin. They became afraid of the Divine Beasts, and tried to kill them. The remaining Divine Beasts hid on Earth, never to be seen. At least until the Second War in Heaven. But let’s talk about the First War in Heaven for a moment.
During the First War in Heaven, Lucifer rallied angels and Divine Beasts alike to rebel against God. Despite their efforts, they failed and were cast and sealed in Hell for a millennium. Lucifer became the ruler of those fallen angels and rebellious Divine Beasts. As their hatred for God grew, their powers and forms changed. The fallen angels and rebellious Divine Beasts became demons, forming their own hierarchy.
Meanwhile, in Heaven, the Seven Great Seraphim (Serah, Nintu, Ganit, Mutael, Titan, Andras, and Fuko) met with God to determine Man’s fate. They were surprised that God didn’t kill off Man in the Great Flood. Why would God leave some man, named Noah, and his family as survivors? Nintu took the lead, claiming Man needed to be exterminated, even after saving Noah and his family. Once again, Man went back to their wicked ways. They erected golden statutes, and had the nerve to build a tall tower in Babylon, in hopes to reach God. Despite her plea to eradicate Man (possibly recreating them without Free Will), God refused. He already had a better plan. That’s when God sent Jesus to sacrifice himself and wash away Man’s sin with His blood. At the same time, God asked His trusted archangel, Raziel, to create a stone that could hold a portion of Jesus’ blood within it. That stone became known as The Lamb. The Lamb converted the demonic energy into spiritual energy, and dispersed it wherever it was necessary. This endless cycle was later discovered by Man and coined, the Law of Conversation of Energy.
Furious with God’s plan, Nintu began to plot a way to overthrow God and destroy His precious masterpiece. She sought the aid of Andras, who had sided with her during the meeting, as well as like-minded angels and Divine Beasts. Fuko was the first to discover Nintu’s treachery, and attempted to report it to God. Andras intervened. Fuko was killed. Thanks to Serah, Ganit, Titan and Mutael, Nintu and Andras were captured and stood trial. God stripped them of their seraph powers and cast them into Hell. Peace was restored, but only for a moment.
In Hell, Nintu and Andras teamed up with Lucifer and his demons to wage war against God. This became known as the Second War in Heaven. It lasted for over two millennia and was much bloodier. Many angels, Divine Beasts, and demons lost their lives. Even The Lamb was in danger. Thanks to the archangel, Michael, victory was ensured. Once again, God sealed Lucifer in Hell for another millennium and scattered some of the demons across the universe. To keep The Lamb safe, God told Raziel to take a small piece of The Lamb, convert it into a crystal, and fuse it with the spirit of a Divine Beast. This crystal became known as The Baptismal Crystal. With The Lamb safely hidden in a pocket dimension, The Baptismal Crystal would be the key to finding The Lamb and cleansing it from the excess demonic energy it absorbed. To keep the crystal safe, God entrusted The Baptismal Crystal with the archangel, Rina. He sent her to Earth to watch over Man, along with Mutael.
Time passed. Man was beginning to seek God and His forgiveness. Man also evolved, creating new technology and increasing in population. But soon, their greed got the better of them. The Rich took from the Poor, diseases and famine spread like wildfire, and Man’s wars increased. One day, while Mutael was out on patrol, he came across a young woman being harassed by some men. It turned out those men were flesh-eating demons, called Pishachas. Mutael defeated them, and even gained intel. There were more of them, living almost everywhere on Earth. They were sent by Lucifer to infiltrate Earth and take over humanity by becoming Man. However, the Pishachas lacked the ability to properly imitate their subject. Their outward appearance would be disproportioned (think the art style from One Piece). Mutael reported his findings to Michael and was able to rally enough troops to stop the invasion. With the Pishachas’ attempt a failure, the surviving Pishachas retreated to their new safe haven, a small town in Germany.
As Mutael got accustomed to living among Man, he became intrigued with the young woman he saved and soon fell in love with her. After a time of getting to know each other, they got married and had a child, named Quinton Yoshido. When Quinton was five, Mutael had to leave his family to embark on a mission that he’s still currently on.
With another failed plan, Nintu had to seek aid from the very thing she despised, Man. She created a secret organization, called Artemis. Their goal was to stir chaos, while secretly making a way to get rid of God’s masterpiece. She used a powerful drug dealer, a cast-out scientist, a shady UN representative, the leader of the radical organization, Chosen, and even a fallen archangel. These members worked tirelessly to spread the chaos and fear across the globe. However, God had made plans to stop them. He created His own team of heroes to prevent Man’s demise. They were known as Freedom.
Freedom consisted of four people in their late teens (Pete, Gloria, Stanley, and Ashley). Armed with the power from their respected Divine Beast, they kept the world safe from Artemis. Until one fateful day, when Freedom was betrayed by one of their own. This tactic gave Artemis the edge they needed to win. Pete was the only survivor. He eventually fled to Savannah, GA, where he remains to this day, under the name, Driger.
With no heroes to stop them, Artemis continued to shape the world from within the shadows. All hope was lost, as a new type of drug was being developed. Then, in 2007, a new group of heroes emerged from the ashes. They are called Yajuu no Bronx. And this time, they have help from both Ganit and Rina.
